We cannot help you without links to the blog you’re importing FROM and the blog you’re importing TO, starting with http.

Hi – I’ve seen this topic posted throughout the support/forums pages but can’t really find a resolution.

Trying to import from Blogger to WordPress.com
    http://www.dianapagejordan.com
    to
    http://dianapagejordan.wordpress.com

Each “page” on my Blogger site is actually a separate “blog” in Blogger’s settings (e.g. About, Work, Blog, Contact, etc.) because at the time Blogger didn’t support static pages. The only one I want to import is the real Blog.

I followed the WordPress.com dashboard prompts, and granted access from Blogger. WP now lists all of my 11 pages/blogs that live on Blogger, but each says 0/0 posts, 0/0 comments.

One problem may be for that each of my 11 blogs, it’s showing the base http://www.dianapagejordan.com URL as the import-from location. Should be /blog, /work, etc., right?

I clicked the magic Import button anyway, for the one I want. Got a dialog saying “Nothing was imported. Had you already imported this blog?”

Very strange. On a deadline to move over to WP before the Blogger hosting expires in a few days, so thanks so much for any help!!

Eek! Web host for my Blogger expires tomorrow, and still no luck on this.

    Anyone have any thoughts?

Thanks so much – I appreciate it.

I wish I had a solid answer but I don’t. However, blogger will surely know more about their exports. Have you asked them for help on that bit?

    Thanks, ellaella.

    No good news yet.

I searched the Blogger forum and didn’t find anything on this specific 0/0 issue. In fact, I found: “If you buy a BMW, don’t ask the BMW dealer how to move the engine into a Toyota. Or how to move the transmission from a Subaru into a BMW.
Nor should you expect that Blogger will help you move your blog from Blogger to WordPress.” Helpful ;)

I suspect it may be because of my self-hosting and domain mapping on Blogger. I’m hoping after the DNS changes to WP tomorrow it may work, although I’d prefer to pull beforehand.

Some WP forum posts suggest pulling a Blogger XML file into WP, and I’ve successfully exported that from Blogger to my desktop, but can’t find a way or instructions to import that now. XML isn’t listed in Tools -> Import among the other options. Some WP forum posts say to import/export via RSS, but that’s not getting me any further (don’t know how, can’t find instructions, not listed in Import options).

I’m surprised because there are a ton of (closed) posts about this with no resolution, including some from WP Support saying they’re working on it (from months ago). Several link to http://support.wordpress.com/import-and-export/ but that page loads empty. The whole thing is just a bit strange.

I can try contacting WP Support. Thanks again and I’ll definitely repost any resolution here!

Do contact support. I’ve only done an export/import once and it went off without a hitch. Repointing, as I’m sure you know, can take up to 72 hours to fully propogate, but it’s usually less. Mine have been just a couple hours.

As for expecting Blogger to help with an issue like this, all I can say is the support docs here fully cover that option and it’s yet another reason I have a low opinion of Blogger.

So welcome to WordPress, best of luck and do post the resolution. This is sure to come up again.
