Problems importing from a wordpress.org site

  I have exported my blog from the current wordpress.org site and imported to a wordpress.com site. Unfortunately, there is missing information and/or photos. Any ideas on how to make the import work correctly, versus re-uploading all photos since 2010 in my blog again?

  When you import you are prompted by a message that asks if you want to include attachments. The media files including image files are the attachments. So any media you uploaded into your site will be in that file. The images that were not uploaded into your media library will not be included as they are hosted on other servers ie. different servers than your site was hosted on.
