problems importing from blogger?

I want to shift to wordpress and import from blogger, but when I authorise it, nothing happens – I am either returned to the original “Howdy” screen without any changes or get an error message saying something went wrong and I should retry or clear all information and try again.
Can anyone help? My blog at blogger is quite large – I am wondering if this is the problem – the non-“automagic” option therefore is not really one I can consider – I need the plug in to work.
Any thoughts and help would be much appreciated, thankyou.

It sounds like you’re having trouble with the automatic Blogger importer tool. I’ve reset your import, and you might try it again using a manual import.
From here, you will need to fetch your export file from Blogger. Then, in your WordPress.com Dashboard you can go to Tools > Import > Blogger and under “Have a Blogger export file?” find the file on your computer and click on the “Upload file and import” button.
If that still isn’t working for you, please let me know.

Hi! Thanks for your help with this! WordPress told me my content was uploaded and would be updated (? – probably getting the language wrong here) soon. This was some hours ago. I’m afraid I don’t know what to expect around timing etc. Any thoughts would be appreciated, again. Thankyou!

Persistent problem with the automatic blogger import tool. Used to work. No more. Know how to do manual but wish I could fix automatic.

@doingjusticenews I’m sorry you are continuing to have issues with the automatic importer. We’re aware that there are sometimes issues connecting to Blogger. The good news is, the manual importer is pretty quick as well.
