Problems in changing the e-mail address

    Change of e-mail address does not succeed even though the new e-mail address is not associated with another WordPress account.

    “If you attempt to change the e-mail address in your Personal Settings and find that it never sticks after saving the changes, the issue is quite simple. The e-mail address you are attempting to use is probably associated with another WordPress.com account.”

    The new e-mail address does “stick” in the sense that I get the information that a message has been sent to my new e-mail address. The message never enters into my new e-mail. I have tried this two or three times with several weeks of interval between the attempts. The result is: the same old e-mail address is still in my personal settings.

    My new e-mail address has numbers (e.g. 123) in it. Could it be one reason?
