Problems inserting Flickr images

I just recently switched back to wordpress.com from being self-hosted and obviously things have changed. I do have domain mapping. I am having a problem inserting Flickr images, Most of my images have been transferred over however a few are missing and only the links are showing up in the posts – the same with a slideshow. I am used to just pasting the link to the photo and it showing up. I re-linked the blog and Flickr and my Flickr account does have an APIkey enabled from when I was self-hosted. Also, I have tried using insert image and I get that dreaded red X when I put the link to the photo.

Give us a link to one of the flickr images you are trying to insert, and also a link to the site itself.

For flickr slideshows, see this post by Panos which explains how to do it here. Flickr slideshows are not directly supported here, so you have to use the gigya shortcode.
WordPress.com does have their own slideshow feature now for images that are hosted here at wordpress.com though.

Regarding your question with the X, make sure you are using the actual image’s URL (the one that ends in JPG) rather than the Flickr URL that ends with a series of numbers. From the Flickr image link itself, I go to Actions > View all sizes, then select the size, and then click (or right click) on the Download link right above.
About your slideshow problem, did you fix it? If not, there is the possibility of entering a comment on Panos’ blog:
