Problems migrating domain
-
I own the domain
sunshinestatepublicadjusters.com
Through go daddy, but I’m having trouble migrating it to WordPress. Every time I try it says that the site is already mapped to a WordPress site. Thoughts ?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
That domain is already mapped to sunshinestatepublicadju.wordpress.com which is owned by @sunshinestatepublicadju.
If you have access to that WordPress.com account, log in and contact us to help you unmap the domain so that you can then start the transfer process.
If you’re unable to log in to that account please read the steps outlined in our Account Recovery guide so that you can regain access to it:

I’m logged in already which is how I made this post. How do I unmap sunshinestatepublicadjusters.com so I can start the transfer process?
-
So by the way, t his is me ‘contacting’ you guys for help unmapping the domain. How else do you think I made a support post? Did I somehow hijack this account and use it to contact you guys on the forums? Can you provide me with the proper instructions how I can migrate sunshinestatepublicadjusters.com FROM go daddy to WordPress?
-
My apologies. I completely misinterpreted your response @fstat. I now see that @sunshinestatepublicadju is a separate WordPress account from this one. I need to gain access to that one to uncap the domain first hand.
Sorry for the panic / frustration, that makes a lot more sense. Thank you for your time, it was really helpful!

So, following up (heh, sorry about earlier again), I am unable to contact the owner of @sunshinestatepublicadju however the domain mapping to the domain I own, is on that account. Is there anyway we can remove the mapping from their account if I can prove ownership of the domain itself?
-
Hi there,
The domain
sunshinestatepublicadjusters.comis now pointing directly to GoDaddy since you are the owner of the domain you may use it with whatever host you’d like by changing the name servers. If you do want to use the domain with another WordPress.com account we will need proof of ownership before the domain can be removed from the owner’s account. If you are unable to contact the original owner but made the payment you may provide us a transaction ID by filling out the Account Recovery form as described here:
Hope this helps and let us know if you need anything else.

Hey @bdukes,
Thank you for your response.
I don’t own the original WordPress account associated with the domain sunshinestatepublicadjusters.com, right now, so I don’t have the original transaction ID to provide for account recovery since the account isn’t mine.
I DO have access to the go daddy account associated with the domain and was hoping to be able to move it to my WordPress account. Is there anyway I can provide proof of ownership to remove the domain mapping FROM a WordPress account I do not own, and TO a WordPress account I do own?
Best.

Also,
Can I change my .wordpress.com address back to sunshinestatepublicadjusters.wordpress.com ? for some reason it isn’t letting me in the panel.

Proof that you own the domain at GoDaddy unfortunately does not mean we can remove an upgrade someone else paid for from their account.
Can you please tell me when you registered this domain through GoDaddy?

There is no way to reverse an address change, no. If you still want to use sunshinestatepublicadjusters.wordpress.com I can restore it to your account, though – the address change process also deleted that site. Please confirm if I should do that.
