Problems posting posts and pages since transferring blog
-
I recently transferred my blog from .com to .org and moved all of my old content across. However, when I write new posts, whilst they appear under the category headings, they don’t appear on the main home page.
Additionally, new pages I create are not appearing, though they say they are published on admin. Have tried adding the page to the menu but , again, whilst it says it is added on my admin page, it does not appear that way publicly.
Any help out there at all?
My website is http://www.dbwanderlust.com
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi. I saw your question with interest because I am getting ready to move my website from wordpress.com to wordpress.org. I have a host, squid ink or something, which I’ve subscribed to. Now I wonder what to do next. Did you pay the folks at WordPress to do this for you or did you choose to do it yourself? Thanks and good luck!

I am actually hosted on a friend’s network as travelling means that I don’t have the time to deal with technical problems all that much.
You don’t need WordPress to transfer your blog for you though….it’s pretty easy to do yourself. If you Google how to transfer your blog, there are plenty of tutorials and how-to descriptions out there. Save your money!

http://www.dbwanderlust.com/ is NOT hosted by WordPress.COM and you cannot get support for it here at all. We provide support only for blogs being hosted WordPress.COM and not for WordPress.ORG software installs. You are posting to the wrong support forum.WordPress.com and WordPress.org are completely separate and different http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, so you can post to the support forums there and receive advice from WordPress.ORG bloggers.

To move your content you need to create an XML export file of your content. It will not include the theme as they cannot be exported. See 3 below.WordPress.com and WordPress.org are completely separate.
http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/1. Hire a web host http://wordpress.org/hosting/
2. Set up a WordPress.org install and equip it with a theme and plugins.
http://wordpress.org/themes/
http://wordpress.org/plugins/3. Export your content out of your WordPress.com blog http://en.support.wordpress.com/export/ and import it into the install.
4. Purchase a site redirect upgrade from wordpress.com
http://en.support.wordpress.com/site-redirect/ or if you have domain mapping then update the nameservers http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/move-domain/#change-name-servers-to-point-the-domain-outside-of-wordpress-com5. Transfer subscribers and stats. See https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/migrating-wordpresscom-followers-to-new-self-hosted-site?replies=1
6. Set your wordpress.com blog visibility to private. To change blog visibility to private go to > Settings > Reading scroll to Blog Visibility and choose option 3 . See the guide here http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/privacy-settings/
Alternatively you can purchase a Guided Transfer and Staff will do the move and set up for you http://en.support.wordpress.com/guided-transfer/
NOTE: WordPress.com and WordPress.org have different log-ins and run different versions of themes with same names. If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, so you can post to the support forums there and receive advice from WordPress.ORG bloggers.
