Problems registering a new blog
-
Hi,
I went into this problem a little in another forum, but the topic of my problem has since changed.
Last week I registered atasteoftoronto.com. I have since decided on a better name, as these things happen. Ideally I would like to simply change the domain name, since I have already paid my $17. When I click “change blog name,” I get the “This tool is temporary disabled. Check back in a few days.” answer.
However, I have heard that I have since passed the two-day window where I am allowed to change my “.com” domain name.
If this is the case, I still want to register a new domain.
When logged in as tasteoftoronto, I go to “manage my blogs” and then I click “register another blog,” which takes me to the page with “Get another WordPress.com blog in seconds” at the top.
Then I fill out the registration page, choosing example.com (not the free wordpress.com option), choose “I want a new blog,” fill our the rest of the info, and then click “Create Blog”. This redirects me right back to the “Get another WordPress.com blog in seconds.”
It seemed to work once, but then it gave me the domain exampledotcom.wordpress.com when I was trying to get example.com.
It’s taking me in circles and really frustrating me! I just want to buy another .com domain now!
Please advise!

You don’t need a new blog to register a new domain name –
Try Dashboard >> Store >> Add a Domain – should cost you $ 5– for the registration
-
But I want it to be a completely new blog.
Like, I want it to be example.com, when I have already bought blahblahblah.com. I want the URL that is at the top to be example.com.
Would I still be able to buy example.com for $5? I’m confused…

atasteoftoronto,
I went to dashboard like auxclass said and tried to buy a domain and it says I have to pay another $17. Looks like we’d be better off just starting over unfortunately.
