Problems Signing In
-
I have a shortcut on my desktop that takes me straight into the WordPress admin so I can post, change my pages, etc.
However, if I’m on someone else’s blog and it asks me to Log In in order to comment, when I try to log in, it tells me my User ID isn’t correct. This also happens if I just pull up http://www.wordpress.com in my browser and try to sign in. I’m using my correct name, elitevas, and my email address is correct according to my settings.
Help! I don’t understand what’s going on.

I know it’s the standard response around here right now, but try clearing your cache and cookies and try it again. It sounds like a cookie problem to me.
Mmm… Cookies…
HTH!

It worked! Wow, thank you. Could I ask another question? If this isn’t appropriate, let me know and I’ll post a new topic.
I’m doing good with posting on my blog, adding categories, stuff like that. But I just don’t get the Side Widgets stuff. I can’t seem to get it set up the way I’d like. I want the Feed stuff at the top on the right, but mine’s at the bottom. Also, I’d like to have the Technorati and delicious (sp?) stuff on there. Any easy steps on how to do all that?
Thanks.

I’m a bit lost. I don’t even see the feed stuff on your blog.
We have a delicious widget that you can add it. As to Technorai, it depends on what from that site you’re trying to include.

For delicious links, etc, try this workaround. It’s good for 10% or more of my hits every day.

Thanks everyone! I’m lost about the RSS and delicious and all that stuff, so I’ll leave that alone.
Sorry raincoaster, but that workaround is just beyond me. I’ll just leave everything like it is for now.
But I do appreciate everyone’s response. You’re a good group!

elitevas, it looks intimidating but it’s not. Look back at it in a few days; seriously, it’s only copy and paste, find and replace, all of which should be automated in any decent word processing program. I use Word. It takes me perhaps twenty seconds per post. And I am in NO SENSE a techie, trust me.

Can someone log in as a member to our blog and not have to have a cookie to comment? She is worring about being tracked, or should the hashing take care of that?
