Problems to install a WordPress theme…

  Hi, I would like to install a WordPress theme (Curated: http://themeforest.net/item/curated-ultimate-modern-magazine-theme/full_screen_preview/7282835) that’s not available at wordpress.com but i cannot find the way to do it. Can you help me? Do I need an upgrade to do that? Thanks

  Please note that themes can’t be uploaded to sites hosted on WordPress.com. They can only be uploaded to self-hosted blogs running on WordPress.org software. You can read more about the differences between WordPress.com and WordPress.org here:

  I’m looking to move to a WordPress.org host.
  I understand that if I chose to do a Guided Transfer with one of your Happy Engineers, they will transfer all my site to the new host. That means, the images in their full size, links, comments, etc.?

  Yes! Please note that your current WordPress.com theme and those customizations will not move over though.

  I understand that my wordpress.com site will continue to be hidden at WordPress.com, but all the content will be transfered in the original size and weight with the theme and its customization to the new host. Am I right?
  Sorry, English is not my mother language and I want to understand it properly.

  All the content – posts, pages, and media library – will be moved, but not the WordPress.com theme: The Morning After (which is what it is currently set to). Themes do not transfer between .org and .com. From what you told me you want to use another theme because you purchase it from ThemeForest. Am I mistaken?

  I haven’t purchased it yet, but I would like to use that new theme and it is not available at WordPress. So, if the Happy Engineers transfer all the content, but not the theme, how will that work?
  1- They install the new theme at (for example) Blue Host
  2- They transfer the content of my wordpress.com site
  3- They install and configure Jetpack, pluggins and permissions.
  4- They switch the domain nameserving to the new host
  Is that right? Thank you Grace. :)

  Yes! It states it also here:

  The theme can just be added to your WordPress install.

  Just one last question. I guess it’s better to map my own domain before doing the guided transfer?

  You can do this during the transfer because even if you mapped it now, if your content isn’t there, nothing would be seen at your domain.
