Problems trying to verify blog for Google using Webmaster tools
-
I am trying to verify my blog site for Google using the Google wbemaster tools in my available tools. This does not allow me to verify the site. On inspection, the google meta data is appearing in the code of my blog page, google fails to find it and I think this is because the meta data tag has not been placed into th <HEAD> section in the HTML code. Can someone assist please?

I’m having the same problem. Pasted the code into the place on the Tools page, but Google keeps telling me that the verification failed. My blog isn’t public yet — could this be the problem? Thanks!

Hey Karren, my blog is public, however the response on Google’s verification page is the same… try toggling your blog to public, re-verify and toggle it back to private as a test.

If the blog is not public, that is the problem. If the blog is private, why do you want Google searching it?

I don’t yet. Thought I’d take care of this step now but will try again when I make it public. Thanks!

The verification step failed for me as well. This is due to the missing,
starting, html tag head. The interesting thing is that there is an end tag.At least this is the issue on my site. If there is an update to this issue I would love to hear about it. Perhaps I’m barking up the wrong tree.
Thanks in avance for any help that may be provided. -
hello. i had this problem just now. i realized that the meta given by google webmaster tools has this “/” at the end part. and also it has double quotation symbol.
so i deleted the “/” symbol and replaced all quotation symbols with single quotation. i did this because i followed the example provided in the TOOLS > AVAILABLE TOOLS section.
you know what, it works! lol. finally i was able to verify my blog.
