Problems with adding new post and editing

  New editing style is highly problematic. Adding media tedious & laborious with the ‘add media’ button resolutely at the top of the page requiring endless page-ups to add media then page down to continue.
  Once added, resizing is impossible. Captions change, for example. So I have a single caption for all images if I try to resize.
  Awful editing.
  How to a change to a more user-friendly editing format?
  Or any other hints to make it more user-friendly and prevent me abandoning wordpress. I cannot continue this way. Please help.
