problems with background, comments in one post and apostrophes

    Hi there,
my wordpress is in Greek, I have started it a couple of months ago as a free user and I am in Misty Lake theme.
Recently, I have come against some problems. At first, the greek apostrophe in the posts were appearing as double (although when I tried to edit them they seemed ok) and the comments of one post were not visible. Actually, you couldn ‘t see that there are any comments when in the main page (no comments), but they appeared as soon as you entered the specific post.
Finally, I found out today that neither the background image is appearing. Instead, there is a plain black background.
    Any ideas?
    Thank you.

    Hi there,

I just checked your blog (in the latest versions of Chrome and Firefox) and I don’t see the problems you are mentioning. The background image appears and I don’t see any posts that have double apostrophes or are missing the link to the comments.

However, I may just be overlooking it — can you make a screenshot of the problems you see? You can upload screenshots to your Media Library under Media > Add New in your dashboard, or you can use an online service like Snaggy.

That will help me understand what’s going wrong. :)

    Hi there,
I am really sorry for the long delay. Regarding the problems, I posted again the background image and is now ok and the problem with the double apostrophes still exists, but I found out that it has to do with all the greek wordpress blogs (I have substituted some of the apostrophes with the greek stress which looks similar.

However, the problem with the commet counting is still present. Actually, whereas when a post has only one comment, this can be seen when on the main page, in the case of a post having 2 or more comments, the comment counter in the main page says “no comments”. However, the comments exist, only you have to enter the specific post in order to see them.
Check for example my most recent post at the moment. There are two comments but the comment counter informs that there aren ‘t any.

Any ideas why this is happening?
    Thanks

If you need some screenshot, tell me and I will response immediately this time.

    Hi there!

I posted again the background image and is now ok and the problem with the double apostrophes still exists, but I found out that it has to do with all the greek wordpress blogs

I found the issue you’re having with the apostrophe — sorry about that! Our team just fixed that issue, so the regular apostrophe will work again in Greek. Please let me know if you have any more trouble with it.

However, the problem with the commet counting is still present. Actually, whereas when a post has only one comment, this can be seen when on the main page, in the case of a post having 2 or more comments, the comment counter in the main page says “no comments”.

Ah, I see what you mean now. There’s an error in the Greek translation, so it uses the translation Χωρίς σχόλια everywhere (if there are no comments but also if there are comments). Can you tell me what the correct translation would be instead? For example, if there are 2 comments should it say “2 σχόλια”? I can then fix the translation for you.

Thanks for explaining those issues — sorry it took me a while to understand what was going wrong. :)

Thanks a lot for the immediate response, you are great :)

I checked the apostrophe thing and it seems ok.

The translation for the comments is exactly as you thought.
    2 comments = 2 σχόλια, 3 comments = 3 σχόλια etc.

No problem at all, I believe it was my fault.
    Thank you again

Thanks for your help with the translation! I just fixed that and asked our team to launch that fix.
