Problems with comments!! Help!!

  I can’t seem to add my own comments! I can publish new posts, just no comments. When I try to do it a second time I get:

  “Duplicate comment detected; it looks as though you’ve already said that!”

  I’ve tried logging out and logging back in, I tried logging out and posting a comment as a non-admin, and I’ve tried all of this on a different computer, and the result is always the same.

  It seems to process fine, but the comment just doesn’t appear. I have cleared my cache before all the above tests to be sure.

  The thing is…people ARE leaving comments…so I’m thinking – were they simply lucky, with the rest being lost?…or is it my computer / network? Help!

  i can’t help your dilemma there, but i’m offering an alternative: why don’t you add your comment by editing their comments? you can bold your comment when you add your comment in your commenter’s comment (ineloquence is okay if you understand me, lol) to differentiate the comments. i do that on my blog.

  Look in your Spam stuff. Any time I’ve gotten that “duplicate comment” message it is because the comment got marked as spam.

  I got that one time. Had no clue why. But I changed one word in my comment and then it went through.
