Problems with creating certain blog posts

  HELP! I am totally new to blogging and technology has moved beyond me. One online tutorial shows a ‘Dashboard’ which looks a lot more helpful than what I get, which is simply a ‘My Site’ page. I see the links for adding a page to my blog but then cannot figure out a way to put a hyperlink on the home page to go there – or a description of what those inner pages are all about. I’m also trying to upload a book I wrote which is broken into 22 Adobe PDF files, again as inner pages, but am having no luck. Heck, I can’t even figure out how to add a weekly post to the main page of my blog and then move it to an inner page a week later (again, with a hyperlink on the home page to Archives). And I can’t find any step-by-step walk-you-through information anywhere. Can you help me? I’m stuck!
