Problems with domain

    I own a domain name elsewhere, and I’ve forwarded it to my wordpress blog, I’ve added the nameservers and they show up in a WHOIS. However when I try to add the domain to my blog it still asks me to buy 10 credits. Now I may be mistaken but I read a guide to this and it said that if I got hosting and dns support elsewhere I wouldn’t have to buy dns support from wordpress as well.

    Are the 10 credits mandatory no matter what in order to use a domain name you bought elsewhere? As far as I see they’re not going towards anything?

    I cannot be sure, but if you are hosting at WordPress property, the 10creds are just the fee to pay for the feature of having your blog appear on your own domain. Of cause, if you are hosting your blog elsewhere other fees may apply.

    Owning a domain name is not the same as mapping that domain name to wordpress.com.
