Problems with Eventbrite Single Event Theme

  • Unknown's avatar

I am feeling totally frustrated as I was so excited by this new theme:
    – Cannot get Eventbrite Single Event Theme to integrate with Eventbrite or to load up custom pages as no Eventbrite Display Settings in ‘Theme >> Options’
    – the centring tab does not work for media, it does for text

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there,

I’m sorry for the frustration! You can connect your site with Eventbrite under Appearance > Theme Options in your site’s dashboard here:

    https://winterbhaktifest.wordpress.com/wp-admin/themes.php?page=theme-options-page

If you run into any trouble with that, please let me know.

the centring tab does not work for media, it does for text

Can you send me a link to a page where you’re trying to center the media and it isn’t working? I’d be happy to take a closer look to see what’s going on.

The only way I have been able to integrate with Eventbrite is through a “Buy Tickets” button http://winterbhaktigathering.co.uk/tickets-3/ as there are no options on the page you gave me the link to for, other than Eventbrite Authentication/Authentication Status and Connect with Eventbrite. No integration appears to happen when I click ‘Connect with Eventbrite’ and there are absolutely no ‘Eventbrite Display Settings’ to choose from on that page. So I do not know what to do with this.

    Many thanks

    Hi there,

When you click on “Connect with Eventbrite,” it should take you to Eventbrite.com to a screen that looks like this: https://cloudup.com/c0iMaP2JHvC

You’ll need to click on the “Allow” button to finish connecting your site with your Eventbrite account. Once you’ve done that, it will take you back to your theme options page where the rest of the settings will appear. (Those other settings won’t appear on the page until the connection with Eventbrite is complete.)

If that isn’t working, can you let me know exactly what appears on your screen after clicking the “Connect with Eventbrite” link?

You can also make a screenshot of what you see there. You can upload screenshots to your Media Library under Media > Add New in your dashboard, or you can use an online service like Snaggy.

Thanks for that link. It looks like there may be a problem with the theme that makes the centering not work properly. I reported that to our team so they can investigate it for you. :)

    Thank you so much, Rachel.

The link now works, where as it didn’t before and now all the options load up. I can’t get the calendar to work properly in the widgets and it is a shame that the Milestone widget is in grey and not orange but apart from that I am very pleased with the theme. In my opinion, the embedded part on the Event Info Page doesn’t provide a large enough window before you have to ‘scroll’ down.

You’re welcome! I’m glad that link and settings are working for you now.

I can’t get the calendar to work properly in the widgets

Just to confirm, are you using the Eventbrite Event Calendar/Listing Widget? Would you mind adding that widget to your sidebar again so I can take a closer look at it? That will help me figure out why it isn’t working properly.

it is a shame that the Milestone widget is in grey and not orange

If you’d like to customize your theme’s design (including the colors used in the widgets) you can do that with the Custom Design upgrade. That upgrade includes Custom CSS, which can be used to make a lot of design tweaks to get your site looking just the way you want it.

In my opinion, the embedded part on the Event Info Page doesn’t provide a large enough window before you have to ‘scroll’ down.

Do you mean the embedded Ticket Information section on the page http://winterbhaktigathering.co.uk/tickets-3/ ? I can pass that feedback on to our team so they can take a look at how that section is embedded. Thanks!

    Hello,

The problem with centered images is now fixed, thanks for pointing that out.

In my opinion, the embedded part on the Event Info Page doesn’t provide a large enough window before you have to ‘scroll’ down.

That’s a tough one, yes – since it’s embedding another webpage, it has to be a fixed size (since your page cannot detect the size of the embedded part). Some people of many types of tickets, some have one; we tried to find a size that works for most people.

You have the Custom Design upgrade which gives you custom CSS; that can be used to make the embedded part (the “iframe”) a different size. Let us know if you need help with that.

    Thanks,
    Kirk

Thanks, Rachel & Kirk – I am no good with CSS customisation so do not have the upgrade yet. Thank you for fixing the centring.
