Problems with Featured Image and Help thereon
-
Hi there,
I’ve long had problems with incorrect ‘featured’ images on pages with i.e. multiple images. And your HELP documentation seems WAY out of date on this aspect. Can you provide me with all the details on the ***up-to-date*** way to set/reset the featured image for a page?
Thanks

Thanks for getting in touch. The featured images are determined by the theme in use on the site.
Looking at https://flowchainsensei.wordpress.com/ do you want a featured image to display on that front page alongside each post?
That site is set up with Blogum. Here you’ll find the demo site with featured images assigned to each post as I mentioned earlier. https://blogumdemo.wordpress.com/ Since this theme is now retired the documentation may not match, and it may not work as browsers continue to update.
If you like the look of Blogum though, we can help you find a similar option so you can move forward with things.
Go to https://wordpress.com/themes/ and click on the
blogstyle. That’s going to show you more writing based options. I think that Twenty Sixteen may be theme you want to try out next. -
Thanks for responding. Here’s a ***page*** that illustrates the issue I’ve been having:
Books
I need to have the featured image for this page to be the three-book-bundle image i.e.
https://s3.amazonaws.com/bundles.leanpub.com/organisationalpsychotherapybundle1/s_hero/bundle-cover.png?1637651906But the “featured image” presently is the (lame) Product Aikido image and I have no idea how to fix this. Any suggestions?
Thanks

Gosh, it looks like Blogum may be old enough that it doesn’t actually support a dedicated ‘featured image’ function when you’re editing the page; and it’s possible it just defaults to the first image that was originally added to the page.
Without changing themes, you may possibly be able to try simply removing the Aikido image from that page, saving/updating the page, and then re-adding it afterwards. I can’t guarantee this will force the featured image to change, but it’s worth a go.
Otherwise I’d definitely go with what zinnia mentioned, about potentially changing to a similar, but not retired, theme so that you can define your preferred featured image manually as per the guide:
