Problems with "Featured Picture" using "Organic Theme"…..Help Please

    I published my post and when i go to it via the browser: http://www.jesusgodandme.wordpress.com
    my picture does not show: I have a large message where the “featured picture” should be and says: You can edit “Have You Prayed With Your Mom Today?” and use featured images to add an image here. if you go there you will see what I mean. I don’t know how to get the “featured picture” to show. The picture I am using is showing correctly in the theme’s “featured picture” box on my post page on the backside. Via the browser It is showing down below where the articles show up but not on top. I deleted the original post, redid it pictures and all and republished but I am having the same problem. Also cleared cache and cookies, too. I don’t know what the problem is. Can anyone help please.

    According to http://en.support.wordpress.com/featured-images/ the size requirements for your featured images are:

    Structure

    Small: 440 x 240 on the home page for featured posts
    Medium: 620 x 380 on the home page for latest feature post
    Large: 640 x 392 on single posts

    And from here: http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/structure/

    Please note: If the width of the Featured Image selected is less than 620 pixels, it will not appear in the Featured Posts area.

    So you need to make sure your images are the correct size, otherwise they won’t show up, since they’ll be too small to fit correctly. If you make those changes, it should work.

    Daniel: Thanks for responding. I have a 450 x 299 picture as the featured image. It should work as the previous post had the same size pic and it was working great. I don’t know what makes this any different. I have looked at all my settings and I am just baffled. I don’t know what to do. Do you have any other ideas? I’ve changed pictures several times thinking maybe there was something wrong with that picture, but does not matter. p.s. I also resize the picture to 620 x 380 and it still doesn’t work. BTW, This is the first time I’ve ever had problems with the featured image.

    Daniel: Around 3 a.m. this morning when I logged back into my blog I noticed on the dashboard side that when I went into the post, the set image block was missing along with the picture. So I went to the screen options ribbon and noticed that the “featured image” was unchecked which was odd as it was checked prior to my logging out.
    Then when I would hide the screen option, the “featured image” option would automatically “uncheck”. This afternoon, it was checked and the image was setting in the block. I changed the image and am using a 736 x 551 pixel size. It still will not show up. So I still have the same edit message showing on my home page along with the title of my prior post. I am stumped at what to do next. I am just wondering if there was a recent update or fix to the “structure theme” that is suddenly causing me problems.

    Hi tehrh589,

    There was no featured image chosen for the post http://jesusgodandme.wordpress.com/2013/05/10/have-you-prayed-with-your-mom-today/ . This is why you got the message that you needed to set one. Since you had only one image associated with that post, I added it as the featured image on your behalf and it now displays properly.

    If you want other posts, like your post about Moore, to appear in the Featured Posts area, remember that they must have the correct tag (in this case, Christianity) to show up.
