Problems with Headliner

Problems with Headliner.fm
I clicked the “Promote this now” button in WordPress dashboard after finishing a blog and signed up to Headliner (free) and instructed it to promote on Twitter. Right away a spam tweet was generated in my name that would take people to a ‘dangerous site.’ I deleted the tweet but don’t know how to cancel the Headliner account.

You will need to contact the headerlinerfm Staff directly to cancel your account there https://headliner.fm/contact.php

Hi David,
Headliner is a social sharing service that automatically pushes your blog posts to your social networks. If you want to disconnect from it, simply go here:
https://en.wordpress.com/settings/security/Your Headliner connection will be listed at the bottom of that screen and you can disconnect it from there. :)
Let me know if you have further questions!

Since the last few days, I have been unable to promote my posts through Headliner.fm. When I authorise promotion, it takes me to another page which shows some kind of error message (sorry, didn’t make a note of it).
Is anybody else experiencing something similar?
-
Both WordPress and Headline responded to a similar complaint I made. See above. Both said they would ‘look into it.’ But I see the problem is not resolved. I consider it a serious one because it takes recipients of the promotional tweet to (in my case) an unsafe website — which destroys the value of the promotion.
WordPress: do more to fix your association with Headliner or cancel it altogether!

@kookyskitchen
When you post here for help and fail to provide a screenshot of what you see you delay getting Staff help, because when they do post they will ask you for it, so they can witness what you are seeing and address the issue.I’ll tag this thread for Staff assistance. Please subscribe to the thread so you are notified when they respond and please be patient while waiting. Please post screenshot, upload it to your Media Library, and return to this thread to provide the file name so Staff can examine it.

I have uploaded the screenshot to my media library. The file name is ‘Headliner Error Message’.
Thank you.l

@kookyskitchen — Thank you. Can you please create and upload one more screenshot of what/where you’re clicking that takes you to that 404 screen? So the step right before you see that. :)
David, I thought you just wanted to disconnect from Headliner. If the issue was that you were seeing some error while using it, can you please also make a screenshot of what you’re seeing? Here are instructions for how to make a screenshot: http://en.support.wordpress.com/make-a-screenshot/
You can upload it to your blog’s Media Library and I can look at it there.

eurello,
I think my posting (first one, above) is pretty clear. Clicking on ‘Promote this now’ generated a tweet from me that directed recipients to a website deemed ‘dangerous’ by my browser. I had to go into my Twitter account to delete my tweet. Luckily I caught it before it went out and ruined my reputation (and WordPress’s).I did not get a screen-shot, but I’m not likely to try ‘Promote this now’ again until I have some assurance WordPress has this fixed which, given the recent post above, you do not. I would advise other WordPress users to do the same.
David

Seriously, disconnect from Headliner and NEVER use it. It is beyond noxious and I cannot imagine what possessed anyone to greenlight it for WordPress.com users.
