Problems with images!

    Hello!
Aaaa, I`am going crazy. I have two problems with my blog that have not been there before.

The first is when I will upload a “upright” image, I must now rotate it 90 degrees for it to be standing in the blog. It must therefore be lying to either the right or left direction, which direction it becomes apparent only when I upload the picture. Edit images in wp does not work, then get an error message “crash site”. What to do?

The second problem is that some images will not upload when I click on “insert content”, they end up in the gallery and I have to go in there to insert them one more time for them to be “stuck” in the post. What to do?

Please help! What should I do about this, to write and add images takes twice as long time when I must rotate images and fill them up “two” times.
Someone who knows what to do?

    Greetings,
Will you please tell us how you are connecting to the internet and to WordPress.com? The main dashboard isn’t designed to work with touch devices through the tablet and smartphone browsers as yet. Will you also tell us which browser and version of it you are using please?

    Hello!

I have one laptop with windows xp and the connecting is with fiber network (lives in a rent house) and one desktop computer with the same browser and internet connecting.

When it didn`t work at the laptop I tried to do post on the desktop computer and it did work the three first posts but then the same problem showed up there to :-(

I think it works better to uplode images with my iphone, there is no problem so it is when I do posts on the computer.

    Thanks for quick reply!

I’m going to flag this thread for Staff attention as this is not the only thread I have seen these issues image rotation and image uploading issues being reported in. Please be patient while waiting.

    Thanks for your answer!

I will try to be patient, but its boring that I not can use images in the posts. So, I hope the Staff will look at this problem soon so I dont need to change my blogg to something else. I like wordpress, its easy to understand and go fast to do posts, except this irritating problem with images it works perfect!

In what way can I get information when the Staff has an answer on this problem, on this page?

  • Are you rotating the images prior to uploading them?

We recently added the ability to auto-rotate images based on the camera’s orientation, so rotating them prior to uploading may interfere with this.

At first I didn`t rotate the images before uplodning, but when the problem showed up ( images that was supose to be upright, was lying) I tested to rotated the images before uploding and then they became “upright”.

But this is just one problem, the other problem is that the images not always is stuck in the post. I must then go first to the galleri and uploade them again, and with some luck you can see them in my posts.

  • Would you please give us a link to a post where the images are not appearing in the gallery?

  • Unknown's avatar

All images that I upload ports in the gallery, but they are not always visible in the blog entries. I have no link to the posts where the images are not visible because I have chosen to either remove them or I’ve been sitting for several hours to get to it work.

I can do a post where an image is to be standing but are lying if you want?
Now I have a new problem and it is that it will be two copies out of a picture when I uplode one picture. I always have to delete one of the images.
I don`t understand why this has happened? Beacuse wordpress has worked great until a few months ago :-(

The latest post I have done now ( wp test), http://www.hundanna.wordpress.com)
I have not turn the images around before uploading and one of the picture is lying, but should be rightup.

Its strange beacuse now when I will show you the problem it was no problem with the other pictures to upload. But this is the problem sometimes some pictures is working fine immediately but next time it dosent work at all?
Sorry if it seems a little bit strange, but I dont know who to ask or what to do so Iam grateful that you will help me!

  • Ok, I see the image lying on its side there.

Would you please try re-uploading it?

  • Unknown's avatar

I have uploade the post or did you mean just the picture that is lying? If you mean just the picture I must do it again.

  • Just that particular photo.

  • Hm, still sideways.

Can you try rotating it in an image editor application first, then upload it.

  • Unknown's avatar

Thats the way I must do with pictures who uploads lying down. But first I must upload them once and see if they are upright. If they dont I must roatate them and uploade them one more time= many extra steps to do before I can public my posts :-/

  • Ok, but it does work properly for you if you rotate first?

If so, your camera probably just doesn’t provide orientation EXIF data.

What`s about my post I do here? Why is my text in a “rectangular box”?

  • Unknown's avatar

Yes it works if I rotate them first, but all the picture is taken with the same camera. So why must I rotate some pictures and some not?

  • What`s about my post I do here? Why is my text in a “rectangular box”?

You’re using backticks (the key below escape and above tab) instead of apostrophes (the same key as for quotes, to the left of Return).

This just appears to be a glitch with the camera. It’s saving the orientation data on some photos, but not others.
