problems with instagram widget and dashboard
-
Trying to add widgets to my new blog. WordPress won’t let me add the Instagram widget to my blog. I am on a desktop in Internet Explorer and have logged in to my Instagram account on another tab. And have allowed popups for WordPress. The computer asks if I am sure I want to leave the page. A few times. before bringing me right back to the Customizer without having added any widget. Help please.
I also cannot access my Dashboard. Other bloggers can access theirs from this computer on Internet explorer. I appear to be missing buttons on my blog. -
Actually I am finding a lot of things that aren’t working or missing. My wife blogs and I have been comparing the two home pages / dashboards etc.
There is no way to easily access the Media Library.
No way to find my Dashboard when on desktop or tablet but I can now find it on mobile. Wasn’t there at the beginning but seems to have appeared out of nowhere today.
No WP Admin button when I log in to blog.
Can’t edit photos.
Still can’t load Instagram widget.
Have tried different browsers and clearing cookies etc. Wondering if the best thing would be to get the site wiped by Support and see if that solved the problem? Finding the whole thing very frustrating. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks. -
Hi there
No way to find my Dashboard
The Admin login link for every blog hosted by wordpress.COM is:
http://NAME_OF_BLOG.wordpress.com/wp-admin/All you need to do is replace NAME_OF_BLOG with your actual blog name in the URL.
See https://en.support.wordpress.com/instagram/
Please use this guide for the widget too https://en.support.wordpress.com/instagram/instagram-widget/
And note this support doc
https://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/#widget-visibilityIs your Instagram account public? Or is is private, and therefore, blocked when it comes to display of images in the widget on your blog?
This particular widget needs to be authorized using the WP admin widget page rather than the customizer. If you go to Dashboard > Appearance> Widgets from the WP Admin dashboard and authorize the widget from there, you’ll have much better luck.
