Problems with links and posts display on iPhone

  Recently I encountered a couple of problems when posting:
  1. When I try to assign an image for my post, nothing is attached.
  2. When I tried to reduce the size of the image from 1250×1500 to w800 (suspecting that this was the problem), it didn’t let me save the change.
  3. When I tried to change something else, i.e. rotate the image, it allowed me to save the change but it then showed as a broken image in my media section.
  4. After posting without an image, it automatically posts it on FB (as I set it up to do). iPhone users get a FB notification but when they click it and enter my blog (via iPhone) the post doesn’t show at all. The new post is only found via deliberate search.
  What to do?

  Hi Aviad!

  Thanks for the reports. Can you let me know whether you’re using the iPhone app or using WordPress.com through your browser?

  If it’s the former, can you let me know what version of the app you’re using? You can find this by navigating to Me -> Settings -> About.

  If it’s the latter, could you let me know what browser you’re using on your iPhone?

  For the Facebook link issue, is that only happening with the following post?

  For some reason, the shortlink on the Facebook post isn’t correct. Currently, it reads:

  http://wp.me/p1nn6V-me

  It should be:

  http://wp.me/p1nn6V-lX

  I’m not sure why this happened at the current moment. Once you answer the questions above, I’ll be able to troubleshoot further and attempt to reproduce.

  Thanks for your reply.
  These are the answers to your questions:
  I’m using WordPress.com through my browser.
  On iPhone, I’m using the default browser, which is Safari.
  It happens with every post now… not only with the one above. Whenever I share a post on Facebook and try to click on it from my iPhone, it leads me to a page with the message (my free translation): “Nothing found… you requested a post from the archive but there are not posts in the archive that you requested. If you wanted to read a specific post, try and look for it”.
  Good job on finding that it creates the wrong short link…. I wouldn’t know why or what to do.

  I’m popping in to help on this ticket. I am attempting to recreate your issue on my own iPhone, but am not having the same trouble. Could you tell me:

  1. Have you had this problem in the past, or have you been able to add photos in this manner on your iPhone before?

  2. What model iPhone and what version of iOS are you using? Is your Safari app updated?

  3. Can you try the iPhone WordPress app while we are working on your issue, and let us know if you are able to upload images? I’d like you to have mobile functionality while we are troubleshooting these problems:

  4. If you attempt to post from the App, as well as from a desktop/laptop computer, can you tell me if the same issue exists with your strange, incorrect Facebook link?

  I’ve run your URL through the Facebook debugger. In doing this, I cleared Facebook’s cache of any incorrect information it may have been storing about your site. Let’s see if a new post works correctly when you publish this time.
