problems with my account
-
Hi,
I am having a problem with my wordpress account.
My domain is http://www.economicmethods.com
I originally had my site made using weebly, then I created a wordpress site using http://www.economicmethods.com/newebsite in order to create and then replace the old one without any down time. However, when I had customer service rep from my hosting Ipage.com move the new website to my domain and delete the temp one I made. Something went wrong. Now under my wordpress account I have both websites listed I cant delete the one under http://www.economicmethods.com/newebsite (which comes up empty) and the presentation page for my site is not working properly (I am using nirvana). The slider on the presentation page comes ups briefly as the page is loading then it disappears.
Is there a way to solve this easy or should delete everything and start over?
Thank you some much for your help
Best,
RobertThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I checked http://www.economicmethods.com/ and I found that site is setup using WordPress software, but it is not hosted here at WordPress.com. See http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/ to learn about the differences.
Based on your description, the best place for you to ask for help about the presentation page not working properly would either be through the theme developer’s support forum or at http://wordpress.org/support/ It would help to include specific details about what you’ve done in the theme already and include a link to where the problem can be seen in action if you can.
Now under my wordpress account I have both websites listed I cant delete the one under http://www.economicmethods.com/newebsite (which comes up empty)
I’m not sure how your WordPress hosting is setup or where you might be seeing the websites both listed, but it sounds to me like your hosting provider is the right place to go back to for help with that particular issue. It would help to include a link to the dashboard page you’re looking at when you see the problem.

ok Thank you for your help, i really appreciate it.
When i log into my wordpress account and go to my sites both http://www.economicmethods.com and http://www.economicmethods.com/newebsite are listed. and all the stats for my website http://www.economicmethods.com are listed under http://www.economicmethods.com/newebsite. Even though if you where to go to http://www.economicmethods.com/newebsite theres is not a website there.
Is this still something i need to take up with my hosting provider? also is there a way to delete everything of my account where i could start from zero again?
once again thank you for your help!!

Without knowing a little more about your setup (which your host seems best equipped to help you figure out), it’s hard for me to tell so I suggested the web host as a good next step to get help finding out more. I’m also recommending talking to the web host to help you start sorting things out because I can see that the sites you’ve mentioned are not hosted here at WordPress.com.
When i log into my wordpress account
To clarify, are you looking at a URL like http://www.economicmethods.com/wp-admin/ or something else?
is there a way to delete everything of my account where i could start from zero again?
Yes. With a self-hosted WordPress install, there are two main parts: the files and the database. It’s possible to delete everything and rebuild from scratch but doing so may require some technical knowledge about your hosting setup and how to manage files and databases manually. Also, if you take a step like that, you need to be aware that all of the content could be lost and to prevent that you would need to make sure you have made all the appropriate backups. Some hosts have a one-click install for WordPress. if you used something like that to get started, then the host is the best place to ask to find out more about how that works.
If you want to dig in and try to work on it yourself, there are some related guidelines at http://codex.wordpress.org/Moving_WordPress#Moving_Directories_On_Your_Existing_Server
Moving a website manually can be tricky business, so just be careful as you go. :)
If you talk to your host, and ask them for help just figuring out what happened in the move from http://www.economicmethods.com/newebsite/ to http://www.economicmethods.com/ before, they should be able to walk you through how to use the tools their system such as a file viewer and a databases manager to figure out what’s going on. If you have WordPress-specific questions they cannot answer, then asking at http://wordpress.org/support/ would be the next best place.

That’s helpful to know. I researched further too, and I found that http://www.economicmethods.com/newebsite/ was listed for your johnsonrobertm WordPress.com account so I removed it. This should help make it so you won’t see stats for http://www.economicmethods.com/newebsite/ in your Jetpack settings any more. Hopefully that helps.

You have been very helpful, I am having my hosting provided delete everything so I can start from zero. It just seems like the best way to solve all the issues, is it possible for you to check my account that so ensure there is nothing there as well. Because http://www.economicmethods.com/newebsite pop back up again, after you fix it. It was gone, I just logged on again and its back.
Sorry for all the craziness and once gain thank sooo much!!

I checked just now and I don’t see a connection between http://www.economicmethods.com/newebsite and the WordPress.com username johnsonrobertm in our system.
If you connected it using a different username, you can try writing in another support request while logged in as that user.
FWIW, it won’t hurt anything to have the connection there. You could leave it forever and it wouldn’t do anything if nothing is setup at http://www.economicmethods.com/newebsite
