You cannot just paste from Word or a web page or word processor directly into WordPress into the Visual Editor as it brings in all the junk you don’t want.
You have three choices, most of them explained in the support documentation for working with Word in WordPress.
1. Write your content in a text editor and copy and paste from there. There are some very powerful text editors with spell check and many features available. Text files carry no additional code junk to mess things up.
2. Click the last button on the Visual Editor toolbar in the post or Page (Kitchen Sink) and you will see a menu item with a W on it called “Paste from Word.” Use that instead of PASTE to sorta, kinda, but not completely paste in a clean version of the content.
3. Switch to the Text editor (not the Visual Editor) on the post or Page and paste the text in there. Usually all the code junk is removed and text only is pasted in. Make sure you have a blank space (two enters) between paragraphs. WordPress will recognize that and create a paragraph tag around each paragraph so the paragraphs are not squished together. (In the Visual editor it is one ENTER between paragraphs.)
I hope that helps. Thanks.
