problems with self-hosted transfer
-
All of our email subscribers were not transferred to our new self hosted site. Also, as a subscriber, when I go to read a new post via my email, there is a ton of what appears to be HTML code first, then the post way underneath it. Please advise. The blog is fitmomsfullplates.com

Hi Pam,
I can assist you with transferring the subscribers for you. Can you please confirm that you wish to transfer subscribers from fitmomsfullplates.wordpress.com to fitmomsfullplates.com?
As for the email that you received, I’m not sure what the issue could be there. Are you using the Jetpack module to send out new posts by email? Are you able to copy over the code that appeared in the email, or better yet, provide a screenshot of what the email looked like?
Thanks!

Hi thanks for getting back to me. We are trying to transfer subscribers from our self-hosted site fitmomsfullplates.com. We bought the domain name almost 2 years ago, so our URL hasn’t had the .wordpress in it for quite some time.
I am not sure what you mean by “using the Jetpack module to send out new posts by email.” I write a post in Word, C&P it into the body of a new post, make any corrections, links, etc. and publish. I notice when my co-blogger sends out new content her emails look fine.

Here is a screen shot of what the messed up email looks like via dropbox. Please let me know if this works for you. I would truly appreciate any help you could give me and I truly thank you for your time.

Hi Pam,
Sorry to be a stickler here, but your first post and latest post seem to contradict one another (one says to self-hosted and one says from self-hosted), so I want to be sure that I transfer the subscribers correctly, so that you’re not left with 0 subscribers! Your latest post suggested transferring subscribers from your self-hosted site fitmomsfullplates.com back to you your WordPress site, fitmomsfullplates.WordPress.com. Is that correct?
I think I see your problem now (thanks for the screenshot, it was a big help). When pasting from Word, there are a couple of extra measures that you need to take to ensure that the content displays as intended. This guide walks you through it (http://en.support.wordpress.com/microsoft-word/), but once you have taken these measures, you should no longer encounter these issues with your emails.
Thanks

Oh I see where I confused you, sorry about that. We want all of our followers from our wordpress site transferred over to our self-hosted site. I think we had 60+email subscribers on the wordpress site and now only have 18 on the self-hosted site.
Thank you so much for the link to clean up word document C&P. That is exactly what is wrong. I will try a new post that way. I appreciate your help. My frustration level is decreasing :-)

Pam,
OK, I’ve gone ahead and transferred those subscribers for you, so you should now see the correct number of subscribers on your self-hosted site. Please let me know if you’re still not sure of anything.
If anything else comes up that you need help with, please let me know!
