Problems with Soundcloud HTML5 widget

    I recently realized out that my Music Portfolio page was not showing up on iOS mobile devices because of the lack of flash. I spent some time working with the html5 player on the Soundcloud site, but when pasting the shortcode into my wordpress site, the flash player still seems to load.

    Here’s the two versions of the shortcode for comparison.

    Does WordPress.com currently support the html5 plugin?

    Also, is there any way to display an alt-link for people when a plugin doesn’t load? For example, in a blank spot on a site where the player should be on a non-flash device, have a “click here to play” link?

    I took a look and everything seems to be working properly.
    Can you please try clearing out your cache? Do you also encounter this issue in a different browser? for example Firefox or Google Chrome?

    Thanks for your reply! Yes, I have forced reload, flushed cache, and tried multiple browsers,

    The issue is really that the flash version loads instead of the HTML5 player. You can see what the HTML5 version looks like here.

    In your testing, did you see that HTML5 version, or the flash version that looked more like this?

    Hi there,

    The HTML5 version of the SoundCloud player isn’t supported at this time.

    However, you can use this version:

    Now than I am aware of this, this is close to a deal breaker for me. Are there any plans to support the Soundcloud html5 player in the future?

    Yes, we do have plans to support the HTML5 player, but I can’t give any estimates as to when that will be available.
