  Problems with soundcloud players
  In two recent posts the soundcloud player has shown “This track is currently not available” (in the posts “Do You Really Want to Be Heard?”, which features my own recordings, and in “Outside Broadcast”, which features a recording by David McCooey). In the past this has been a simple matter of copying and pasting the shortcode from soundcloud and it has always worked. I’ve contacted their support and, so far, they have found nothing wrong with the code they’re providing. Has anything changed at the WordPress end of things that I should know about?

  Hi there – Can you please try something? Please edit that post, and cut those links, and then switch to your Text editor, rather than your visual editor, and paste the links in the Text editor directly:

  Then update the post. Please let me know if that works for you, or if it doesn’t. Either way, I see that they’re not working as is, so I will report that, but I want to see if this workaround works for you first. :)

  Thank you, Eurello and Timethief. Eurello’s advice was exactly the fix needed. I had been given the same advice from soundcloud.com’s tech support but it was phrased as: edit this in HTML. Huh? I know so little about HTML and have no idea how I would go about doing it. I’m sure they just wanted me to switch to the text editor.
  I often have this problem with tech support. They know the product but have trouble communicating with those of us who don’t (plus there is often a language barrier because this is such a global enterprise). It’s a bit too much like being in a science or math class. Communication has become a precious thing to me, so important yet so difficult.
