Problems with speed and access to your blog.

A DoS attack against AT&T in Dallas caused latency and packet loss between two of our datacenters. This was the reason for the slowness. About 10 min after we noticed the issue, we were able to route traffic around the affected area and service returned to normal. The network issues are still ongoing, but improving and should be fully resolved shortly.

There are still some intermittent problems caused by the attack. We’ve temporarily routed around the problem areas and are working with network providers on a complete solution.
You might experience some momentary problems or slowdowns in the meantime. Apologies for the inconvenience, we hope to have it fixed soon.

Thought you might be amused by my blogger’s reaction:
HUMILITY IS WHAT THIS IS
If you’ve heard us wimper about speed on the Internet and so on, you may also have heard how very much affected we are, how everything slows down for us, etc. Well, it turns out there has been a major “DoS attack (no, I don’t know what that is either) against AT&T in Dallas, causing latency and packet loss between two of our data centers. This was the reason for the slowness. About 10 min after we noticed the issue, we were able to route traffic around the affected area and service returned to normal. The network issues are still ongoing, but improving and should be fully resolved shortly.” I mean, we think we’re out in the sticks (we are) and it affects us only. My guess is it’s impacted on the whole world, including god Google itself!(This was lifted from our WordPress forum; they’re on the ball, those guys. But it still seems slow today, doesn’t it?)

Go get them!huh? we’re not on WoW here. You can’t fight a DoS attack, you just get out of its way. Or did you mean something else?

Hi Disposablerose!
I am basically an IT idiot. But fighting includes running away. It’s part of the 36 strategies. Lol~
Knowing how to run away is also a feat. :)
Scope.
