Problems with static home page
-
I want my home page to be static. I have created a separate page for posts where I want them to reside. My posts still appear on home page even after making home page static. I have followed instructions as detailed here: http://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-create-a-separate-page-for-blog-posts-in-wordpress/ .
Can you please help me to fix this?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

The instructions you need to follow for a WordPress.com site are here:
Take a look through that page and let me know if you have any further questions. I’ll be happy to help.

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. I have been through this page. I am fairly versed in putting pages like this together, too. I do not understand why the posts are showing up on the homepage. The reading settings are set to: Front page: Home, Posts Page: Journal. The site is: 7elementsdr.org . You can see that the posts are still showing up on the home page. I went back, deleted all of the pages, started from scratch to make sure the process (as detailed in the link you shared) was adhered to and I am still having the issue. Am I missing something? Thanks.

Ahhh, I see. So your theme has some specific features. Check out this page:
https://wordpress.com/themes/organization/support/
It talks about how to set up the content blocks for the Organization theme home page.
Let me know if you have any trouble.

Thank you – that is getting much closer. Do you know how I can de-activate, or turn off the ‘bottom left latest articles’ and ‘bottom left tabbed ‘ sections as described here https://wordpress.com/themes/organization/support/ ? This page http://spicekitchenincubator.org/ does not include those sections so it seems it can be accomplished but I am not sure how to.
Thanks! -
So, I think the reason that is working on the other site is that they do not actually have any blog posts. With no posts, nothing appears in the posts area.

I thought so earlier in the process before contacting you. Here is what appears when no posts are connected:
“Uncategorized
NO POSTS FOUND
We’re sorry, but no posts have been found. Create a post to be added to this section, and configure your theme options.”
Any thoughts on alternate solutions to this problem? -
No, I mean that they have no posts at all on their page. They are only creating “pages” and not blog posts.
