Problems with subscriber registrations
-
Subscribers tell me that they are subscribed, but do not receive any new articles and do not appear in the subscriber list of my blog. (I did the test with another of my email addresses) actually a problem.
1- We register our email address for the blog subscription, WordPress answers us as a subscriber and,
either we receive an email to confirm the subscription, but the subscriber does not appear in the list of blog subscribers and does not receive any new articles,
either the subscriber never receives a confirmation email from WordPress and no longer in the list of blog subscribers.2- In addition, in this subscription widget, it is not possible to register the email address a second time. So if wrongly entered the first time, no one will know, WordPress will send the confirmation to the wrong address if confirmation it sends.
3- After the fact, impossible to re-register the email address for the subscription, the blog / widget says already subscribed. (I did the test with a different email address).
4- Even if I invite these same subscribers with this link (I must have the email addresses, (not obvious): https://wordpress.com/people/new
Unfortunately, those same email addresses of the supposed subscribers, when entered in the WordPress invitation says: already subscribed. Please help me, I have been distraught about losing all these subscribers for several years. And it’s a real puzzle.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
When I check on my end, I can confirm subscribers on these lists are added correctly and should be getting notifications of new posts:
- https://wordpress.com/people/followers/voyagesenborddemer.com
However, I do not see that you have published a blog post since January 12th. Do you plan to publish a new blog post soon? If so I’m happy to check again and make sure that the notification went out.

Hi there,
1- We register our email address for the blog subscription, WordPress answers us as a subscriber and, either we receive an email to confirm the subscription, but the subscriber does not appear in the list of blog subscribers and does not receive any new articles, either the subscriber never receives a confirmation email from WordPress and no longer in the list of blog subscribers.
Can you please share a few of the email addresses of those subscribers so I can have a closer look? Please note that the email addresses will be hidden and only me and other staff members will be able to see them.
2- In addition, in this subscription widget, it is not possible to register the email address a second time. So if wrongly entered the first time, no one will know, WordPress will send the confirmation to the wrong address if confirmation it sends.
Yes. That’s how that works. You cannot enter an email that already exists in your subscribers’ list.
3- After the fact, impossible to re-register the email address for the subscription, the blog / widget says already subscribed. (I did the test with a different email address).
What are the email addresses you tested it with?
4- Even if I invite these same subscribers with this link (I must have the email addresses, (not obvious): https://wordpress.com/people/new
Unfortunately, those same email addresses of the supposed subscribers, when entered in the WordPress invitation says: already subscribed.Again. What are the email addresses or WordPress.com usernames?

Hello there,
Many thanks for confirming those email addresses.
Were those subscriptions confirmed via email by those parties?
If not, they may need to check any spam or promotional inboxes that are present in their email inboxes.
Many thanks in advance.

Those two email addresses are alread subscribed to your site, Landry in particular subscribed 4 years ago, and Dunes 3 days ago.
Landry did receive https://voyagesenborddemer.com/2021/01/12/phares-du-quebec/ via email, and Dunes hasn’t received anything yet since there are no more recent posts than that.
-
I don’t understand why it is a different person to answered me.
And you answered what I know. I know about the two emails. They don’t appeared in my list. They don’t receive anything. And please, answer about the 3 problems.
PLEASE READ MY PROBLEMS.

For answers to your 3 questions, please see my college’s reply above: https://wordpress.com/forums/topic/problems-with-subscriber-registrations/#post-3622151
Landry and Dunes are subscribed to your site, and I can see them in your list.
I’m not sure why they aren’t visible in your list, we’ll look into that, but Landry was sent your last post. If Landry did not receive it in their inbox, please ask them to check their spam folder.
Dunes has not been sent anything from your site yet, because they subscribed 3 days ago, and your most recent post is from 8 days ago.

Me I do not see them on my list, that’s not normal.
Please do it as I see all off my suscribers.
Do you see more suscribers than me?
How many do you see on my list? You wrote:

Our logs definitely showed the email was sent, so we’ll look into that too.
If Landry receives your next post (or doesn’t), please let us know.

How many subscribers can you see on my two lists, if you see more than me?
And, in the subscription widget, could you add a second entry to provide confirmation of the email address?
This would avoid address registration errors.
As a result, everyone would receive their subscription confirmation from WordPress.

Hi @jlandryartiste,
We recommend using one thread for each separate issue. Since there are already many different issues in this thread, I’m going to recommend working through one until it’s finished, then moving on to others.
To resolve the issue with the widget:
In addition, in this subscription widget, it is not possible to register the email address a second time. So if wrongly entered the first time, no one will know, WordPress will send the confirmation to the wrong address if confirmation it sends.
If the email is entered incorrectly, why would you want to enter the same incorrect email address again? The person should instead visit the page and enter the correct email address, which they will be able to do if they want to.
So this really isn’t necessary:
And, in the subscription widget, could you add a second entry to provide confirmation of the email address?
This would avoid address registration errors.
If they enter the address wrong, they should simply enter the correct address instead.
Please let us know if you have more questions on that issue. We are working on the one with the dunes email not showing up.

It becomes impossible to re-register the email address if it is incorrectly entered the first time (we know this because we do not receive a confirmation email and do not appear in my list of subscribers) and on my blog this mentions already subscribed if one tries again to enter the address. It seems that WordPress recognizes the device or IP that entered the email address and not the email address itself. I did the test with my email address (email visible only to moderators and staff) and (email visible only to moderators and staff).

Hi there,
Thanks for the additional info! I was able to check on both of those and they do appear to be subscribers in our system, but are not showing on your site when you look here: https://wordpress.com/people/email-followers/
we’ve asked our engineers to take a closer look, but as this is the weekend it may take some time until we hear back. Thanks for your patience!
