Problems with the New Format

How do I revert to classic mode for my writing page/screen? Also, in the new format, how do i ‘Preview’? How do I upload photos? Why is there no longer a ‘text – photo – video’ screen to choose from? Sometimes I like to post a photo and not have it imbedded in the text.
There are no links to help us with changes.The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Our team is working on some updates and changes to the new post page here: https://wordpress.com/post/
Currently, you can add images to your posts by dragging & dropping them in the space below the post editor to create a gallery. Our team is also working on updates to that feature to give more options for adding and managing the media in your posts.
To preview a post, you can set the post status to Draft (instead of Publish), save the draft, and then click the Preview Post button that appears.
If you prefer, you can also use the post editor under Posts > Add New in your blog’s dashboard for other options while creating and editing posts. (You can get to that dashboard with the “Dashboard” link on your My Blogs page.)

That is just too much work for preview and posting photos.
How do i just revert back to the original format? It says to select ‘classic mode’ but doesnt tell you how!dislike the new format. its clunky and more work to navigate. ick.

Can you provide more specific feedback about what you find clunky and hard to navigate in the new post editor? There isn’t a way to revert to the older format, but I can pass along your feedback to our team so they can take it into account while they work on this new editor. :)

I don’t want to go through multiple steps to
1. add a photo. I want the ‘insert photo’ button back. its fast. its easy. now i have to dink around with creating a gallery? i have a Mac, it was so easy before, now its a PITA and i can’t figure it out. i don’t want to ‘create’ a gallery. i don’t want to click and drag when i’m on my iPad or laptop, i just want to insert the photo where i want it to appear in the post.
2. preview. give us the preview button back. i don’t want to go through multiple steps to get to preview. i want a fast way to peek at my post and make corrections.
Last….you need to darken the font. why you went to a pasty blue i don’t know but its hard to see and read.
And what is with the beep beep bop?
When i logged in for the first time, i thought i had been hacked!
It doesnt need to be cutesy, it needs to be intuitive. I think your designers are trying too hard and making it more work to post. Just KISS. (keep it simple stupid). -
And what happened to the posting screen that allowed you to choose from a text post vs photo post vs video(media) post??? That is gone. How do i upload a video now?

Thanks for that feedback! I’ll pass it along to our team so they can keep it in mind while they continue to work on that new editor.
In the meantime, you can use the post editor under Posts > Add New to insert individual photos, add videos, and preview the posts you’re working on. Just let me know if you have any questions about that.

thanks Rootjosh, there is nothing worse than creative teams deciding to rename stuff when the original works just fine. there is a fine line between getting all crafty and messing with what works.
