problems with the timing and calender

When I add calender as widget to sidebar or has calender by default, it doesn’t follow the actual timing which i set to GMT +8 and till now it is still 9 May 2009. I need help on this. I hope someone can help me. Your replies are kindly appreciated.Thank you.

Please be aware that all the calendar does is highlight the days (dates not times) on which you publish posts. That’s it. It’s not an events calendar and you cannot edit it. All you can do is give it a title. Thereafter it will automatically highlight the dates on which you publish posts.
The Hello World post with the May 9, 2009 date has no connection to the calendar widget at all. You can delete that post if you wish. Here are instructions > http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/edit-posts-screen/
The date on your posts comes from you setting the timezone up on this page > Settings > General
