Process for creating & mapping a domain?

    I have a wordpress site that I use. Seperatley (not through wordpress) I own a website domain name (just the name, there is no website).

    I want to create a new wordpress site, map the domain name then link it to my existing wordpress site. What’s the process for that? Do I map the domain to the existing site then create the new wordpress site or do I create a new site then map the domain?

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Create the site you want on WordPress.COM (at least register the blog name you will be using (newsite.wordpress.com) – then go into the Dashboard of newsite.wordpress.com and map your existing domain name
