Process for submitting/enabling a shortcode for WordPress.com hosted blogs?
-
Hi,
I’m currently building http://podcast.com with a load of features such as user playlists and podcast directory and feed navigating/playing widgets.I have seen various companies have been able to provide simple ‘shortcodes’ enabling WordPress.com users to post various widgets and objects in their posts (usually Flash audio/video players etc.) and I was wondering if anyone could shed any light on what I would need tp provide to enable a simple shortcode from our system at podcast.com
I can easily create a short id/url to use for these to enable something like:
[podcast feed:xxxx] – to display a player with recent entries to a feed id (xxxx)
or
[podcast folder:xxxx] – to display a navigatable podcast directory and feed reader/player for a podcast.com folder id (xxxx)
or
[podcast playlist:username] – to display a podcast.com user’s playlist player
If someone could point me in the right direction to the correct person to talk to about this, I’d be eternally grateful. :)
Many thanks,
kosso

I would use the “contact Support” link above. Mark can then forward your request to the appropriate people for consideration.

Hi,
The Contact Support link seems to only take me to a page of tagged posts from around WordPress.com and not to a direct support form link. So, decided maybe a post to the Questions forum would be better?
thx

The support link is wonky. It’s taking us to the wordpress.com main page.
But you can reach staff by emailing support [at] wordpress [dot] com -

btw. I found out that a certain level of ‘desire’ for a widget shortcode has to be attained first ;)
