Product Variants Upload Limit
-
Hi,
We just signed up and want to know if there are any product variant upload limits?
Specifically we want to know if there is a daily limit of product variants we can upload before your system stops or limits us? Is this dependent on the number of products/variants we already have on our store..for example if we already had 50,000 product variants in our store would our daily limit of uploading new variants be restricted to 1000 daily etc.
Also what is the max number of variants that 1 product can have?
Thank you
Richard

Hi Richard –
Thanks for writing to us. Are these variables going to be displayed on the front end as a purchase option for the customer? Something to consider is how that will look for the customer on their screen. It might also be overwhelming for them to select through so many options. Another concern I have about such large quantities of variable is that the site performance and loading speed will definitely be impacted negatively.
We have some details about how they appear on the front end for customers here: https://woocommerce.com/document/change-limit-on-number-of-variations-for-dynamic-variable-product-dropdowns/
I’m happy to answer more questions you have about getting this project started! Cheers!

Hi, Thanks for your reply. Yes, variables will be displayed on the front end, however, you may have misunderstood my question a bit. My main question is there a maximum of products which we are allowed on our store, and if we reached this number of products what are the restrictions in place if we wanted to import additional products?
Thanks,

The only limits for the number of products or variations are technical. That means that WordPress.com/WooCommerce.com does not have a problem with you having 1 product, or 100,000, and that’s entirely up to you — but that your site may get a bit slower if you have a very large number of products. This depends on a large number of factors (your theme, other plugins you’re using, number of product attributes, etc.) so it’s difficult to say what the recommended maximum would be.
Some WooCommerce sites can be very slow with just a few products (for example, because they have 100 plugins installed, or a resource-heavy theme), others are still fast with a few thousand products.
