Products not showing in cart or checkout

  Someone please help as i am getting frustrated. I am ready to start pushing and advertising my site but when i did a test order i added 3 items to my cart and when i click view cart or view check out it will open the cart and nothing is there and same for the check out page. I have searched every single thing in my WP admin and cant find out where im missing something and there is a basket in the top right corner that shows the items and goes to a blank page when you click it please help!!!
