Profile photo

I can’t manage to change my profile photo. The photo I want is already uploaded, but when I try to change it asks me to upload a photo, then there’s an error and it doesn’t save. This might be due to deleting my gravatar profile?

    Hi there!

WordPress.com user accounts uses Gravatar for profile photo management and the two are connected, so unless you also deleted your WordPress.com user account, you would still have a Gravatar account. Looking back at your support history, WordPress.com staff provided you with that same information back in February of this year:

[P]lease understand that Gravatar is PART of WordPress.com, both of which are owned by Automattic – it’s not a separate service or company. You can’t have one without the other. You can learn more about Gravatar here: https://en.gravatar.com/support/what-is-gravatar/.

Looking at your account, you’ve opted to have “hide my Gravatar” set in your account settings:

    https://wordpress.com/me

You need to toggle off the “Hide my Gravatar profile” setting and you should be able to upload that photo without any trouble. That setting will prevent your Gravatar profile and photo from appearing on any site, including WordPress.com, so you need to disable that to update your profile photo.

Let us know how that goes!
