  WordPress.com uses Gravatar to power the avatars (profile pictures) here. You can change your avatar using these steps:

  • Visit My Profile Settings
  • Click the avatar (image) in the top left to Update Profile Photo
  • When the popup appears, click Sign in with WordPress.com to log in to Gravatar with your WordPress.com account
  • Select one of the options to change your image.

  I’ve done this over and over, even deleting my old image, but I swear it’s immortal! It isn’t even in my gallery or anywhere on gravatar, but there it is, still at the top of the page as my profile picture!

  You could try logging out of WordPress.com, clearing your browser cookies, and then logging into Gravatar. Does that make any difference?

  Are you using multiple email addresses? If so, are they set to use the same image?
