Profile picture function not working

    Is there something wrong with the avatar/gravatar function? I keep trying to upload a photo and it won’t allow me to edit the photo and then all that shows up is a black square when I am finished. I have gone to to the gravatar site for help, but it is always saying that the help forum isn’t working right now (so not helpful!!). This has been for about a week that the site says the forum isn’t running. Please fix this issue. I don’t like having only a black square for a picture!

    Is there a way to bypass the crappy, ineffective Gravatar method of adding a profile picture to a WordPress blog? Gravatar is not working, and it clearly has not been working since early February (or longer). WordPress is a much better site than most and for it to choose Gravatar (and it’s substandard method of uploading avatars) is kind of ludicrous in 2014. Get with the times, perhaps?
