Profile Update

  Hi!
  Sorry to bother you with what may be a simple solution. I looked in the Support section, and also searched the forums, but I can’t seem to find anything regarding the problem I have.
  I’m from Australia and I started contributing to a blog based in PA around 20 months ago.
  8 months ago, the person running the site asked if I would take over the editing duties, and he would just handle the admin side of the blog.
  Originally, I wrote a short 2 liner in my profile bio area. Two weeks back I decided to lengthen that bio and also add an image as a gravatar.
  The image gravatar updated, but the bio text details did not. After checking everything the last thing I did was to ‘hit’ the ‘update profile’ blue button.
  The new bio details are still as amended in the ‘edit profile’ section, but they do not show when I (or anyone else) links into it at the sites home front page. I feel sure it’s a finger problem somewhere, but I just cannot work it out. What puzzles me is that the image did update, just the bio information did not.

  Just to clarify, is this the site we’re talking about: http://papundits.com/ ? If it’s the same user ID, the Profile details should be the same across all the blogs connected to that username.

  Thanks for the reply.
  Yes that is the site in question.
  It’s the only one I contribute posts to.
  When you visit the home page of the site and click on my username under the heading ‘Current Bloggers’ which takes you to their profiles, the bio text entered there is as originally composed.
  When I enter the ‘your profile’ area, the new text is there. It just does not show up as being entered.

  The image is handled through Gravatar.com, so it could well have updated independently. It’s odd that your bio did not, and it appears to be because that is a static page, not an actual dynamic Profile.

  Can you go to that page and click Edit when you’re signed in? If so, do that and update the text there. You might find the Author’s Widget would be a better choice, since it also displays avatars automatically.

  Excellent.
  Thank you for that.
  I did as you instructed, and it has updated the profile to the the new text, and now that appears at our home site when I click on the aforementioned link.
