Add topic to favorites
I would like to have my name, contact information, photo and brief bio displayed on the side of my blog page. Is there a widget that will allow this to happen?

Just use a text widget. You can put almost anything you want in there.

I cannot help you without a link to your blog and more information about the nature of the failure. What picture are you trying to put in, and what kind of code are you using?

Hi, I would like to do the same. Can you give me an exemple of how the text widget should be written? Do I have to write the link to my profile picture?

What I’ve done is create a blog post as a prive post for some time way in the past. Then I go to the visual editor and add the image using the upload tool. This allows me to alter the html tags around the image for things like the text that is shown when a cursor is hovered over it & also if the link for the image opens a new window/tab or not.

Once I have it just how I want I flick across to the html editor and copy the html from there into the text widget. It works pretty well.

You can see this on my blog at dominoconsultant.org (it’s hosted at wordpress.com, I just use my own domain).

1. The code for a plain image in a text widget is this:
<img src="URL_OF_IMAGE_HERE"></a>
Of course the image has to be narrow enough to fit in the sidebar. (If it’s wider, you can display a scaled-down version of it using a variant of the above code, but it’s better to create and upload a properly scaled-down copy instead.) Also make sure it’s in low resolution.

2. Plain text in a text widget flows as one continuous paragraph. For line breaks you need this:

Here is what I typed into my text widget:

Keller Williams Macomb/St.Clair

Email: (email visible only to moderators and staff)

However it does not translate the same when uploaded to my blog.
How can I fix this?
