  How can I specify the order that the projects appear on the portfolio page?

  Hey there, they are sorted by date added. If you use the shortcode you can opt for ascending or descending order if you’d like:
  https://wordpress.com/support/portfolios/portfolio-shortcode/#attributes

  And, if you’re just adding them all at once and want to control the order that way, note you can change the date on the items if you’d like. It won’t affect their links.
