Projects, Portfolios feature in widget, etc.

I generally understand how this feature works. I interpret it as a means to cluster together pages and posts under 1 sub-ground and with a clickable photo on the main of a blog.
My question is it possible to embed a Project or Portfolio in a right hand or left hand widget?
I also want to find a way to search for blogs that use this feature in a variety ways.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hello!
You could use a text widget to link to a portfolio or project page. Though, it appears you must use the URL of the portfolio or project page as shortcodes only work with posts and pages. In this manner I would say you cannot embed them in a widget BUT you can use a widget to provide a link to it.
