Prolems continue – "Are your comments being marked as spam?"
-
This makes day 3 of receiving “Sorry, this comment cannot be posted” by myself as administrator and two other authorized users on this blog. I have sent an email to Akismet and have received no acknowledgement. Then I see in the original sticky note on this problem from Tellyworth on Staff that it was fixed. I was pleased to see that, but unfortunately, not on my end. Could someone please provide me with some assistance – Thanks

This is a duplicate theread https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/a-possible-reason-akismet-may-be-filtering-comments-as-spam?replies=8#post-1354253 Creating duplicate threads is not an good thing to do. This is why it’s in your best interest to return to the first thread and it’s why I tagged this thread for closure.
Staff work their way through support tickets and forum threads tagged for their attention by dealing with those that have the earliest date and timestamps first, then moving forward to deal with those that have the most recent date and time stamps. Please be patient while waiting for Staff to assist the bloggers who posted before you did.

I apologize for re-posting, but I thought based on the sticky note it was resolved. I have now subscribed to the previous forum so I can be informed as to what is taking place. But I also had a forum that was posted before the one you mentioned and it was never addressed other than someone asking for the blog URL.
-
I’m truly sorry this is happening to you and I have no help to offer. All I can say is please hang in there re: the other thread, until Staff get to you.

jrinnc, the message “Sorry, this comment cannot be posted” is not from Akismet; it’s a login security measure on WordPress.com itself. There was a bugfix for it deployed about 6am GMT on July 18th. It’s unrelated to the sticky post about UK users.
Are you still experiencing that specific issue?
-
Tellyworth, apparently the bugfix is not working on my end as we have experienced the problem all day, thus the reason I posted this forum. I have another forum out there I posted on 17 Jul and only posted this one because everything I have read from other forums stated the problem was resolved. My original forum is called “Posting Comments” on Jul 17 (oops I see you found it). Anyway, the problem still exists on my end.
-
Tellyworth, I just logged out of the blog to double check and went back in and I am still receiving Sorry, this comment cannot be posted on the first post.
-
-
Thank you so much. One of the other blogger just now logged in and still experienced the problem as well.
-
Could you please describe exactly what you’re doing when it happens, so our developers can reproduce it? Step by step, what URL you start on, where you click and so on.
-
I log in two different ways:
First way to log in:
I go directly to the blog http://heyokapatriots.wordpress.com then to the upper right hand corner to the most recent comment, click on it which takes me to the last comment. The comment dialog box is below that. Then I select the WP icon to log in which brings up the log in box http://heyokapatriots.wordpress.com/wp-login.php?redirect_to=http%3A%2F%2Fheyokapatriots.wordpress.com%2Fpublic.api%2Fconnect%2F%3Faction%3Dverify%26service%3Dwordpress&action=highlander-login
I then refresh my page to get the admin headers at the top. I then click in the Comment dialog box and start typing my comment and hit post. It will then take me to another window with the Sorry, this comment cannot be posted with the following url: http://heyokapatriots.wordpress.com/wp-comments-post.phpI then hit the back button- retype the comment hit post and it takes it.
2nd way to log in:
I go to http://heyokapatriots.wordpress.com/wp-login.php?loggedout=true
which takes me to the dashboard, then I click on the upper left hand site on the name of the blog and it takes me to the blog and I then click on most recent comment and do the same procedure of typing in a comment, etc, etc. (But I just tried it this way and it worked correctly but tried it the other way and it did not). I don’t always log in the 2nd way because there are times I just want to see what is going on before I log in so I usually do the first step.I am not sure how the other users log in but I suspect it is the first way. Tonight just a few mins ago, the other two who are having issues experienced the same problems again and one of them who is out of Canada took her 8 times to log in as she kept getting the Sorry comment. The other one got posted on the 2nd try.
Hope this helps, because I had to go back and look at my steps. It is an automatic thing as I have been doing this about 5 yrs.

I tried the 2nd method again to see if it still works correctly and it does. However, the 1st method has always been used and worked fine until Jul 17. I have instructed the two bloggers who are having problems to log in through the dashboard – 2nd method to see if they are still having problems.
-
One of the bloggers who is in the states logged in through the dashboard method with no problem posting. Still waiting on the one from Canada.
-
Unfortunately my regular Canada blogger could not log in using the dashboard method as she was not assigned a role on the blog. Of course that was easy to fix, but the thing is I can’t be adding everyone to such status.

Thanks for the bug report! I’ve fixed the bug that was preventing commenting when logging in using the first method – please let us know if you notice any other problems!
