Promotions?

umm… i am confused, and im kinda new to wordpress, but im seeing people with promotions
like Key Master and stuff… can someone tell me ALL the promotions there is? -
Key Master means he’s staff. You have to apply for a job with WP.com to get that beside your name. All comments in this forum with coloured backgrounds come from staff members.
The only other “rank” is moderator, and I think there’s only Trent who’s a mod at the moment.

There is no such thing as “promotions” at wordpress.com. These are technical support forum threads. They are not for chatting. Those who are answering technical questions about how to use wordpress are all volunteers.
They have “member” next to their usernames and the background behind what they post is white. Staff have either the word “Staff” or “Key Master” after their names and a yellow background appears behind their posts.

I’m sorry that I had to click out and answer the phone before I finished but I see that raincoaster has already explained that Trent is our Moderator.
Here’s more information:
If you click on my username you will arrive at my blog. It’s full of information for beginner wordpress.com bloggers.
If you click on the word “Member” behind my name you will arrive on my Profile page and be able to see every post I have ever made to this forum.
This works for every username linked to a blog that you click on and it works for every “Member” that you click on. -
