  Hi, what happened to the proofread icon when writing posts?

  Hi,

  I noticed several days ago that the proofread tool was gone and have been meaning to look into it. After coming across your topic, I decided now’s the time. So far I’ve found the following threads on the issue, all quite short.

  • Proofread
  • Missing buttons on my dashboard?
  • Spell check Proof reading
  • blocks and spell check gone overnight

  However, in the “Missing buttons…” topic @themagicrobot says:

  The spellchecker has indeed been removed. There is currently a debate as to if it might be restored in the future.

  which suggests that there might be a larger thread on it that I haven’t found yet.

  The topic Spellcheck feature presently appears to be the key thread, and the most informative one, on the topic of the missing proofread/spellcheck feature. Staff is aware of the issue and several of them have posted information and responses to questions there.

  Thank you for this information. I’ve been pasting my posts into MS Word, checking the spelling and then pasting into the blog. Extra step until they figure it out. I’m looking for the larger thread.
