Propagation mx and cname records
-
Hi All, I have my domain of enzologic.com.au on Godaddy, I’ve done my mapping through WordPress.com and all works fine. But when I did the forward of my email address (email visible only to moderators and staff) on Godaddy I’ve been told by one of their support team member that I had to change my mx records and cname into WordPress.com so I did it as by WordPress instructions. So far the propagation of the mx and cname records is not happening and it has been over 5 days, Godaddy is been telling me that it is because WordPress.com has not propagate the updated records. What I should do? Can anyone help me? Thanks in advance,

Hi there,
If it has been 5 days, the problem could be with custom records not properly getting added to your settings. To verify, head over to My Domains, click Edit next to your domain and then select the Edit DNS tab. Do you see the previously entered CNAME and MX records there?
If not, please add them again following this guide.
Make sure to save once each record is added, here’s a screenshot for adding an MX record.
P.S. If you’re not able to add the records, post them here and since the modlook tag is already added to this thread, staff will help in adding them.

Hi Enzo,
There was an issue with how those MX records for enzologic.com.au were formatted on this end — I just fixed those for your domain, so those records are set up correctly now.
It may take a few hours (possibly a little longer) for those records to start working. If you continue to have trouble with your email after that, please let me know. :)

Hi Rachel and thanks so much,I can see my mx on whatsmydns but it cannot catch the cname I don’t know if this has anything to do with the fact that I still haven’t my email address (email visible only to moderators and staff) working. I still don’t know what to do,please let me know. Thanks again.
Kind regards,
Enzo. -
Hi Enzo,
Each of those CNAME records creates a subdomain, so you’d have to check each one separately. For example, the first CNAME record (POP pop.secureserver.net) creates the subdomain pop.enzologic.com.au, which you can check here:
https://www.whatsmydns.net/#CNAME/pop.enzologic.com.au
You can view all of those records in your domain manager, by clicking the “Edit” button next to your domain name on the My Domains page.
If your email still isn’t working, please check with Godaddy support to find out if you need to add or change any of the DNS records currently on your domain. I’d be happy to help make any further changes if you need.
