Proper Calendar ??

  I’m probably asking a question for which the answer is common knowledge but I’m afraid I don’t know it so I’ll ask anyway, is there a widget for a proper calendar that you can add your own appointments etc in ? help would be greatly appreciated.

  There isn’t. The best I know of is people put a link to a Google Calendar in a text widget.

  The text widget allows for some HTML… So what’s it take to make that text widget into a proper calendar?
  I don’t know html, but it seems pretty straightforward if the code is already out there…?

  We promote events, and having a calendar that links to pages/events would be awesome!

  It’s not straightforward, trust me. No-one at WordPress.com has managed it so far as far as I can tell.

  Use a widget with links to static pages of your upcoming events is my advice. If you have recurring events, just keep editing the pages.

  I’ve actually used Google calendar and added it to my widget bar, thanks to everyone.
