What is the proper size for a Blavatar?

  I am trying to upload an image for our blog avatar and also to be displayed on the blog itself, but I am having some trouble. The square version of the logo I have is 100X100 pixels, but this is too small, and thus black space around the sides results. What is the optimal size for the avatar image?

  The optimal sizing for a Blavatar is 128 by 128 pixels.
